Avail Outreach is a team of highly trained professionals who strives to build upon identified strengths to empower individuals diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum and with related disabilities and their families to achieve optimal outcomes that enhance their quality of life. Our services focus on the use of a variety of behavioral and educational strategies in the home, clinic, school and community environments in collaboration with families and related service providers to get the best results for the individuals that we support. We design programs specifically for each individual's goals, objectives and abilities and believe that everyone can achieve success with the appropriate resources, skills and knowledge.
Julie Crabtree, MS, BCBA, LBA Executive Director
Julie is the Founder and Executive Director of Avail Outreach and Bending Birch Behavioral Services located in Denver, Colorado. She earned her Masters Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and has over 25 years experience working with children with special needs and their families. She earned certification as a Florida Certified Behavior Analyst in 1994 and received training from the Lovaas Clinic in intensive early intervention. Julie earned her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Boston College. Since that time Julie has worked with children and families affected by disabilities in home, community, private day school, and hospital settings.
Ashley received her doctoral degree in School Psychology from the University of South Carolina. While in graduate school, Ashley pursued certification as a behavior analyst and received comprehensive training in educational, medical, and residential facilities. Following graduate school, Ashley completed her doctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Kennedy Krieger Institute in the Neurobehavioral Unit’s Inpatient and Outpatient clinics. Ashley has presented at a variety of national conferences and co-authored publications in journals such as Research in Developmental Disabilities and American Journal on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
Ya Peng, MS, BCBA, LBA Behavior Analyst Ya has been working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis since 2018. After earning her Master’s in Linguistics from George Mason University in 2018, she entered the ABA field to cultivate her passion for working with children with special needs. She received a Master’s in Special Education along with the ABA certificate from George Mason University in 2021. She is excited to be part of the team of Avail Outreach and to give her commitment to the team and children.
Alyssa Fanizzi, MS, BCBA, LBA Behavior Analyst
Alyssa graduated, Cum Laude from Marymount University with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Forensic Psychology in the Fall of 2018,. After graduation she began working at the Ivymount School in the Autism program as a 1:1 therapist, where she taught social skills and other elementary special education groups. She has completed a Masters of Arts degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University. She credited ABA with giving her opportunity to watch children progress and grow as individuals which is her passion. Alyssa is very excited to be a part of the Avail team and to continue work in such a rewarding field.
Danielle Pinaha, Registered Behavior Technician Danielle Pinaha graduated with bachelor’s in early childhood education from Ashford University in 2018. She is currently working on her master’s in special education with a certificate of Applied Behavior Analysis. She worked for a Child Development Center on Fort Belvoir for 3.5 years. The last year and a half she was a Lead teacher over two preschool classrooms (3-4), then two toddler rooms (18 months- 3-year-olds). She came to Avail Outreach in June pursuing better understanding of Applied Behavior analysis and working towards becoming a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst.
Abigail YoHo, Registered Behavior Technician Abigail graduated Summa Cum Laude from Regent University’s honors college in May 2022 with a B.S. in Psychology. While in undergrad she helped to conduct and present research about academic and behavioral interventions for children with special needs, while working as a substitute teacher in special education classrooms. Abigail is excited to be pursuing her Master’s degree in ABA through Florida Institute of Technology in the fall of 2022. She looks forward to becoming a BCBA and serving children in the foster care system, as she has a deep passion for foster care and adoption, and she loves the way ABA works to encompass the family unit as a whole. She is excited to continue learning about ABA and seeing the ways it brings hope, empowerment, and success to both clients and their families and is blessed to be starting her career in ABA with the wonderful team at Avail!
Maria Alvarado, Registered Behavior Technician Maria graduated Cum Laude from Wartburg College with a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and Psychology. Maria first started working in ABA therapy during a summer camp internship with the University of Washington Autism Center. This sparked Maria’s passion for working with kids with special needs and ABA therapy. After graduating, Maria relocated to Washington, DC and joined our Avail Outreach team. Maria is grateful to be part of such an amazing team, and is looking forward to continue to be a part of the positive impact that ABA has within special needs children and their families.
Kayli Horton, Registered Behavior Technician Kayli graduated from Penn State University in 2022 with a B.S. in Kinesiology. While in undergrad, Kayli was an intern at a clinic for physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy that worked primarily with children with autism. Kayli enjoyed her time working at the clinic and decided to switch career paths to pursue ABA to continue working with children with autism. She is excited to continue supporting children and their families and is enthusiastic about seeing the success and empowerment ABA brings them. Kayli is grateful to have started her career in ABA with the amazing team at Avail.
Mary Lee, Registered Behavior Technician Mary is currently pursing her Bachelor’s degree majoring in Biobehavioral Health and minoring in Psychology at Pennsylvania State University. Prior to joining Avail Outreach, Mary worked for the U.S. Department of State as one of the first TalentCare Coordinators focused on employee wellbeing. She has lived all around the world, enjoys flying single-engine planes, and is a mom to 3 young children. Mary became a Registered Behavior Technician to work in the field of ABA with direct access to make an impact on children’s lives."
Mariah (Rye) Holroyd Registered Behavior Technician Rye graduated Cum Laude from Northern Vermont University in 2019 with their BA in Psychology and began working in ABA the same year as a Behavior Interventionist with Lamoille County Mental Health Service's Redwood Program, providing therapeutic services to children for two years before moving to the DMV area. Rye began with Avail Outreach in 2023 to continue working in the field that they love.
